Note: Please be aware that this tour package does not include accommodation and meals, as Pucón boasts a wide range of lodging options that cater to various budgets. Nevertheless, if you prefer us to arrange your accommodation, let us know, and we will gladly do so for an additional fee. If you need ski or splitboard equipment, let us know and we can help you find a place to rent it. Finally, although this tour can be done in 4 days, we recommend our clients to reserve 5 days to allow for an additional day of rest or to better accommodate unpredictable weather conditions.

Itinerary

Quetrupillán Volcano, 2,382 MASL

Our tour will begin at 6:00 am with an hour-long drive leading us to Paraíso Escondido (Hidden Paradise). Venturing into the captivating Quetrupillán forest, we may even have the fortune of sighting emblematic woodpeckers. Following a two-hour hike through the forest, we'll take a break and enjoy the first close-up views of Quetrupillan's summit. After recharging our energy, we'll ascend the volcano's gentle snowy slopes, gradually increasing in steepness as we approach the summit. On the summit, we'll be rewarded with an amazing view of the neighboring Lanin Volcano to the east and the Villarrica Volcano to the west.

Villarrica Volcano, 2,847 MASL

The snow adventure continues! We'll start our day with breakfast at 6:30 am before heading to the famous Villarrica Volcano, towering at 2,847 MASL. It's a challenging 4-5 hour ascent of 1,600 meters, offering stunning views of Lake Villarrica. At the summit, we'll witness the crater's activity and enjoy panoramic vistas of Quetrupillán and Lanin volcanoes. Then, we'll ski down the thrilling 35-degree slopes, eventually returning to our accommodation in Pucón for a relaxing evening.

Relax in Hot Springs

Spend the day off relaxing in renown Termas Geométricas (hot springs) and the afternoon enjoying Pucón, which offers a wide variety of services and shops. Our day will end early as we have a 2:00 am start the next day.

Lanin Volcano, 3,747 MASL

Our last day commences very early as we have a big challenge ahead of us. We will depart Pucón at 2:00 am, driving for 1.5 hours to arrive at the foot of the majestic Lanin Volcano. We will have time for a light breakfast before embarking on a hike, which will be guided by the soft glow of the morning sun. Along the way, we pause to rest and replenish our energy before tackling the initial slope, aiming to reach the plateau that unveils an amazing view of the surrounding landscapes covered in araucarias. We traverse the second plateau, guided by an expansive blanket of snow, leading us to an altitude of approximately 3,500 MASL. Here, we rejuvenate ourselves before confronting the final section, ultimately reaching the summit. As we draw nearer, glimpses of the Argentine pampas come into view, and from the pinnacle, we are rewarded with a panoramic spectacle, encompassing the strikingly distinct landscapes of Chile and Argentina.

Note: This volcano can be summited in 1 or 2 days - extra costs apply for 2 days

Although this tour can be done in 4 days, we recommend our clients to reserve 5 days to allow for an additional day of rest or to better accommodate unpredictable weather conditions.
  • Ski touring equipment or split board (including ski skins, ski crampons, poles, and boots)*
  • Backpack (30 liters – should be able to attach skis)
  • Helmet
  • Crampons for ski boots
  • Avalanche beacon
  • Water bottle (recommended: Nalgene 1L minimum)
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen and lip balm with SPF

*While we can assist you with renting it, we highly recommend you bring your own gear.
